Well golly.

I was just watching Curiosity, with Stephen Hawking tackling the question "does god exist?". His short answer is no.

And not only that, his explanation makes a lot of sense. If you want the full, you can watch it on TLC or youtube, I'm sure there will be some clips.

The basic course of his argument is that the universe's birth and existence can be easily explained, and that no god was ever necessary for it to be possible. He explores theories of negative energy and black holes, and comes to the conclusion that before the big bang, time did not exist (as time essentially does not exist in black holes) so there is no possibility for the existence of a creator.

That also got me thinking. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It's a law. A god couldn't possibly exist in that sort of scenario because it would require him creating energy.
